Job Title:  Maintenance/Automation/Environmental & Safety Manager – Direct Hire
Salary:Â $100k per year
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Manager/EMS Coordinator will be responsible for directing all daily machine and building maintenance activities, controlling spare parts inventories, administering comprehensive Preventive Maintenance and Machine Calibration Programs, and supporting mold maintenance activities as required. Environmental duties involving ISO 14000 requirements
Essential Duties
Â
- Interfacing with all departments and directing unscheduled maintenance activities.
- Coordination of all daily building/grounds’ maintenance activities and janitorial services.
- Coordinates monthly Safety Committee Meeting and initiatives.
- Work order generation for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
- Maintaining a Computerized Preventative Maintenance System.
- Interfacing with Production Control to schedule machines down for Preventive Maintenance and Calibration.
- Weekend and nighttime A1 priority call in support and rotating schedule maintenance.
- Set up and maintenance of spare part parts numbering system.
- Completion and recording of preventative maintenance work.
- Responsible for the day-to-day functions to ensure machines are up and running.
- Improves existing jobs by providing ongoing support.
- Reporting on maintenance activities scheduled vs. unscheduled maintenance, PM adherence, budget adherence, inventory levels and turnover, machine down time, etc.
- On-going maintenance support of all automation.
- Identifies, implements & manages new manufacturing systems & equipment to improve plant productivity & cost justification.
- Plans & implements dedicated business specialty manufacturing cells such as the Clean Room, gears, connector blocks, and filter cores to optimize expertise and efficiency in labor, inventory, and down time.
- Integrates existing methods with new innovations to economically solve production problems, while continuously striving for the most efficient and cost effective process.
- Provides daily trouble shooting & engineering assistance to Mold Repair, Production, Sales, & Quality Assurance regarding manufacturing problems.
- On-going maintenance support of all automation.
- Awareness and compliance to ISO14000 requirements per company policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 10 years’ experience in injection molding processing and/or four-year degree in Plastics or Mechanical Engineering.
- Knowledge of molding automation and auxiliary equipment such as robotics, control systems and material handling, including raw materials, WIP and finished product.
- Strong skills in project management, budgeting, control, and cost justification.
- Knowledge of engineering and grad plastics processing and primary processing equipment such as molding presses and controls.
- Experience in areas of industrial engineering with knowledge of Labor/Time Study, DFM, SPC, and Production Monitoring Systems such as Matttec
- Experience with the operation and maintenance of a classified Clean Room with specific knowledge of GMP procedures, HVAC, and Data Acquisition.
- Must have comprehensive knowledge and thorough understanding of injection molding processes, machines, Robotics and auxiliary equipment.
- Proficient in reading and interpretation of documents such as blueprints, schematics, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

- Excellent organizational, planning and analytical skills; some knowledge of PC based computer software such as MS Word 6.0, Excel 5.0, and program management software.
- Proven leadership skills to develop a team approach that will ensure quality and productivity within the department.
- Knowledge of ISO standards, SPC, TQM, and GMP’s highly desirable.
